“There's not enough troops in the Army to force the southern people to break down segregation and admit the Nigra [Sic] race into our theaters, into our swimming pools, into our homes, and into our churches.”

That’s a quote from dipshit bigot Strom Thurmond, civil rights opponent and South Carolina Senator from 1954-2003. Yeah. He was also a Democrat, specifically a Dixiecrat. Do you remember when Cory Booker (left) was dating Rosario Dawson? That was weird, right? We’ll get into the dating life of Strom (right) at the end.

LBJ was more right than he could’ve possibly imagined. Southern Democrats left in droves, joining the Republican Party and we’ve been pretending race has nothing to do with our politics ever since.
