Hey everybody!
Greetings from the Lyle Hotel in Washington DC! I am in town to attend the Democracy Summit put on by the Center for Journalism & Democracy at Howard University. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be here, although it is very strange to travel without a guitar…
Ok, so, first of all, beloved Indigo Arts Alliance (which had me as their Artist in Residence during February of 2021) released a profile of me as part of their “The Record” project. It is especially glowing and written by my old boss over at Black Girl in Maine, Shay Stewart-Bouley. Shay, btw, has her own Substack right here!
Now for the Micro Concerts:
So, for months, a persistent health issue has been prohibiting me from playing guitar for any meaningful amount of time. Paid subscribers perhaps have noticed the lack of First Friday Micro Concerts here.
Now, good news: the health issue has subsided! In celebration, I will be performing micro concerts every morning at 8:45 from this upcoming Thursday 11/16 through next Wednesday 11/22! If you’re unfamiliar, a micro concert is just about 10-15 minutes long, consisting of a quick story and a song and it’s on zoom. Normally, this is for paid subscribers only, but I’m pretty happy to be playing again, so all are welcome!
Barring any return flight delays, you can see the shows right here and I hope to see you Thursday!
As ever,
SJ
